Technographic Data
Technographic data is information about the technologies a company uses: the software, platforms, and tools that make up its tech stack. In B2B marketing it reveals which CRM, analytics, hosting, or competing products an account runs, helping teams target prospects whose existing technology signals a strong fit or a clear switching opportunity.
It is gathered by detecting website tags and scripts, parsing job postings, and buying from enrichment vendors, then matched to accounts. Sellers use it to find companies already using complementary tools, to position against an incumbent, or to time outreach when a renewal or migration is likely.
A pitfall is treating technographics as perfectly current. Detection can lag real changes, so signals may be outdated. It complements firmographic data, which describes company size and industry. Related terms include ICP and predictive lead scoring.
